I did many mixed feelings about this idea / concept. Some people find that regular release in the way of how users distribution. Some users want to be on the edge of technology and what the developers have made the introduction. Once people get used to that release was time for another release that new ideas and concepts used.
On the other hand, Ubuntu will offer what they call a “Long Term Support version (LTS). An LTS is released every two years. This is so that instead of jumping on each release, you can upgrade only when a LTS release comes. Ubuntu LTS releases are supported with security updates for five years for servers and desktops for three years. The stability and longevity of the LTS releases makes them attractive for hardware makers and organizations to roll out large deployments Ubuntu.
Ubuntu 10.04 release, the third Lucid Lynx LTS release just two years, as promised, after the last LTS release, 8.04 Hardy Heron. What does this mean for 10.04 is that the increased focus on stability is not a long list of new features.
